Advanced computing is an interdisciplinary domain, at the intersection of process modelling and using computers to produce quantitative results.

Previously reserved to researchers and companies in specific domains such as fluid dynamics, computational physics and chemistry, it is nowadays an essential research and innovation tool in the majority of advanced sectors of the digital economy of the 21st century, including "hard" science and engineering, health science and even the humanities and social science.
